How Luxinar lasers optimize PCB depaneling

As PCB designs become thinner, more densely populated and increasingly complex, manufacturers need depaneling solutions that deliver precision, high throughput and process stability without introducing mechanical stress or contamination.

Luxinar offers a comprehensive portfolio of CO₂, green and UV laser sources for PCB depaneling, enabling equipment manufacturers to select the optimum technology for their requirements. Laser depaneling provides a precise, contact-free process with excellent edge quality, making it particularly well suited to high-density and miniaturized electronics.

The portfolio includes the Vivio 532-55-V green nanosecond laser, which delivers high-throughput processing while balancing edge quality and cost efficiency. For highly populated and quality-critical PCBs, the Vivio 355-20-V UV laser provides exceptional precision and thermal control, while the Aionis ultrashort-pulse laser offers minimal heat impact and high cutting speeds for advanced PCB designs. For thicker FR4 boards where speed and cost efficiency are priorities, Luxinar’s Duralife® OEM CO₂ lasers provide a robust alternative.

“Luxinar has more than a decade of engineering experience and close collaboration with manufacturers across the electronics industry,” said Christoph Wunderling, Product Manager, Solid State Lasers at Luxinar. “Our laser sources are used extensively for PCB depaneling applications across sectors including consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace and medical device manufacturing.”

In addition to depaneling, Luxinar’s laser sources can be used for high-contrast, permanent PCB marking, supporting traceability throughout the manufacturing process. Luxinar also provides application support, feasibility testing and process optimization through its global network of application laboratories.
